Did you know that February 24th is World Bartender Day? Well, it is! And that’s certainly a holiday we can get behind.

Bartenders give us so much more than just delicious drinks. They serve up great conversation and set the tone for any occasion with their energy. Oh, and did we mention the entertainment-factor? If you’ve ever sat at the bar at a craft cocktail joint, you know exactly what we mean. Bartending is an art.

To celebrate World Bartender Day, we asked one of our Phoenix-based bartenders, Andrew W., to share a few of his favorite drinks. Read on for the recipes (including a tasty mocktail) and to learn more about Andrew and his experience as a Qwick professional.

Meet the Bartender

Andrew joined the Qwick crew in the fall of 2021 and has worked over 133 shifts on the platform. When asked about Qwick, he says, “It has taught me a lot and brought me a lot.”

He started as a line cook but soon gravitated towards front of house roles, so he began serving. Working as a banquet server led him to his favorite shift type of all—bartending. He now works as a bartender at a popular bar in Scottsdale, AZ and is always eager to accept whatever Qwick shifts fit into his busy schedule. And he sure is busy…

When Andrew’s not working as a bartender, he dedicates time to other business ventures near and dear to his heart. He owns his own catering business called Ace’s Kitchen and is a rapper, making music and performing in AZ and beyond.

Andrew’s journey with Qwick started as a way to make money, but eventually became about something much deeper. “It’s about building relationships. I am very business-oriented and I have Qwick to thank for that.”

[Qwick] has taught me a lot and brought me a lot.
